DOMAIN NAMES
A domain name (eg. mycompany.com) is a unique name that you create and then register online, which is then stored within a global database. Each domain name can consist of any 'unique' combination of letters and numbers followed by a category name (eg .com.au).
Your domain name is central to everything you will do with the Internet. It will be the name that your customers will use to find and interact with you. No one can 'own' a domain name but it is possible to register one indefinitely as long as you continue to renew the registration.
Your domain name will become your website address. eg www.mycompany.com.au. It will also be part of your email address. Your email address(s) can be any combination of letters and numbers added to the front of your domain name separated with an @ symbol. eg info@mycompany.com.au |
